Text AT THE O'NEILL FUNERAL HOME - Eugene Joseph Nadeau age 63 of Watertown died April 9, 2011 at his home.

Eugene was born February 1, 1947 in Waterbury, a son of the late Adrien and Jennie (LaVigna) Nadeau and lived in Watertown most of his life. He was a graduate of Kaynor Technical School. Prior to his retirement in 2008, he was employed as an electrical project manager for most of his career and worked on projects such as Connecticut Yankee Atomic Power Plant, Millstone I & II. Eugene proudly served his country in the United States Navy having served on board the USS San Joaquin Valley in the South Pacific during the Viet Nam War. He was Past Commander of the American Legion Post 146 of Bethlehem and was an avid WWII buff. Gene had an uncanny way of being able to fix anything. He could take anything apart and put it back together again. He leaves a legacy in his basement, a fully rebuilt Cub Cadet lawn mower that his children will not be able to get out. His sense of humor knew no bounds. Gene was well loved by all who knew him.

He is survived by his two children, Collette Marie Nadeau and Gregory Joseph Nadeau and his former wife, Carolyn Nadeau all of Bethlehem. He also leaves one aunt, Evelyn Lane of Oakville, and many close cousins and friends.

A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday April 30, 2011 from 9 to 11 a.m. at the ONeill Funeral Home, 742 Main Street, Oakville. Burial with full military honors will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Waterbury. For additional information or to send an online condolence, kindly visit www.oneillfuneralhome.com.
